The Jazz Club Union of Composers in Moscow is fantastic! Saxophonist Oleg Kireyev Quartet was wonderful and gave me the perfect foundation to soar vocally I strongly believe you should be an open spirit so all the blessing that are meant for you can reveal themselves. I want to share an amazing moment with you. This was a gig that was meant for me. Why I say this with certainty you will know shortly. I was called about this gig at the last minute we had about 28 days to work out contract, visas, and the whole 9. When I arrived at this club in the dressing room was a oil painting of a black woman I know something was familiar about it but I could not place it. I asked about the painting and the artist. His name is Slava Gorsky a famous Russian jazz pianist who has always also painted. I asked about buying the painting and the owner of the club said “I make for you a present”. Upon arriving home I ran to the room where the picture this reminded me of hung. I was completely blown away. About 15 years ago my late grandmother who lived in the tiny town of Starkville, Mississippi bought a painting for me, it Was the Same Women!!
