In a couple of days I will have the chance of a lifetime. I’ll be facing a new horizon. Something I have worked for my whole musical life, an opportunity to show what I can do. My mentor Alyce Claerbaut , President of Strayhorn Songs Publishing told me “the music had met the moment”. I feel that is true, that I must take advantage of this opportunity to pull together all the music, all the disappointments, all the successes, all the stories; everything that has gotten me to this moment and give it all to the audience, or as Mr. Ray Charles used to tell me “leave it all on stage”.
